CEO Rick Lemonds travels to DC to discuss Affordable Connectivity Program

President & CEO Rick Lemonds recently appeared alongside Senator Sherrod Brown in a Spectrum News interview regarding the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) during his recent trip to Washington D.C. in June. Lemonds is a passionate supporter of having affordable and accessible broadband across southern Ohio. During this visit to D.C., he met with many decision makers to advocate for this issue.

Earlier this year, the ACP subsidy expired and has yet to be renewed. This will prevent countless Ohioans, especially those in more rural areas, from being able to afford home internet access. “The demographics for this area are a lot of retired folks on fixed incomes, a lot of poverty-level families, and that’s why this is a critical element for our consumers” remarked Lemonds on the subject.

In Ohio’s rural areas, access to high speed, reliable internet is few and far between. That is why the people at connectSCP will continue to advocate for widespread access to broadband internet for all of our members and the people across rural Ohio.
