New structure will support broadband division and other initiatives

With a new company vision and a broadband division on the horizon, and in anticipation of upcoming retirements, South Central Power Company is reorganizing to prepare for the future, including growing the senior staff leadership team through promotions and new roles and responsibilities.

Transitioning from a senior staff that included a CEO, CFO and vice presidents of member service and engineering and operations, South Central’s new leadership team is comprised of the following members:

  • Rick Lemonds, President & CEO
  • Becky Witt, CFO
  • Kyle Kern, vice president of legal and risk management
  • Tom Musick, today vice president of engineering and broadband, formerly vice president of engineering and operations
  • Chris Hall, today vice president of operations, formerly senior director of safety and labor relations
  • Kyle Heavrin, today vice president of member service, formerly director of energy services and business development
  • Allison Saffle, today vice president of strategy and special projects, formerly vice president of member service

Additional organization changes, new titles, roles and responsibilities in several departments were also part of the reorganization. Changes were made in order to best position South Central Power to execute on current strategic priorities, including broadband, and driving member satisfaction.

“South Central is a growing electric cooperative that is now also in the broadband business,” said President & CEO Rick Lemonds. “To meet these challenges, we needed to realign and expand our leadership team. I am pleased that we were able to identify these individuals from within the organization to take on new leadership roles, and I know they will serve our members well in the future.”
