Cool Returns
Members who are part of Cool Returns have a radio-controlled switch on their central air conditioners, air-source heat pumps or ground-source heat pumps. The switch is activated on hot days when demand for electricity is high during June, July, August, and September. Once activated, the switch cycles the unit’s compressor for brief periods of time. The switch does not control your thermostat and cool air continues to circulate in your home.
Monthly Savings Incentives
Participating homeowners received a one time $100 bill credit when the switch was installed. After 12 months, participants receive a $5 bill credit during the months of June, July, August, and September. A 2-year agreement is required.
Enrollment
Cool Returns is ending as a bill credit program as of Oct. 31, 2023. Call the Energy Services Team at 740-689-6196 if you want to enroll in the replacement savings program.
