Grant Guidelines & Application

As you prepare your application, keep these guidelines in mind:

  • Grant awards are available in amounts not to exceed:
    • $10,000 for groups and charities
    • $ 5,000 for band instruments
    • $ 3,000 for food pantries
    • $ 2,000 for families
    • $ 1,000 for individuals
  • Grant awards may not be used for religious purposes, in support of any political candidate or issue, or for payment of electric bills.
  • A project budget is required with the application. Itemize all expenses that equate to the total cost of the project. Applications submitted without this document will not be considered.
  • Organizations or groups must attach a recent financial or profit/loss statement.
Applications submitted without this document will not be considered. If for some reason your organization does not have this document, please state the reason on the last Q/A field on the application.
  • Applications must be signed by a representative of the party filing the application. The Foundation will not be the sole source of funding for any project or event. The applicant will be responsible for a portion of the project cost. And the applicant must list the other sources of income for the project. For example: Fundraisers, Donations, Special funding, GoFundMe Account, etc. Applications submitted without any other sources of funding will not be considered.
  • Grants will not be awarded to cover operating expenses or to pay salaries.
  • Requests for grant funds cannot exceed the total budget or the project cost. Please do not round up or ask for more than your budget.
  • The Foundation will not accept applications for specific projects or events if applications for that same project or event have already been rejected twice in a calendar year.
  • Applications must be limited to the official application form and no more than 3 additional pages.
  • Applicant should enter the project start/end date on the application. The SCPC Foundation board of directors will not consider applications that occur close to the board meeting date. The board meets in January, April, July and October. It’s recommended that the applicant plan ahead and apply in advance of the project start date or event date.
  • Applications will be accepted at any time but will be reviewed and awarded only four times a year. Submittal deadlines are: March 31, June 30, Sept. 30, Dec. 31.
  • The Foundation Board of Directors may, at its discretion, hold unfunded applications for review during the next round of funding. All decisions of the Board of Directors are final.
  • Funds must be used within one year of their award.
  • Grant awards are limited to one per individual, group or organization per calendar year. Once an award is made, no further awards will be made to an individual, family, or group or organization until a final report is filed demonstrating how the funds under the previous award were expended. Final reports must be filed within 12 months of completion of the project or event funded by the Foundation.
